Australia Day is a time of celebration for all Australians as we recognize the forming of our modern nation. On this national holiday we celebrate our diversity and fortune with friends and family by gathering together for a barbeque, drinks and activities for the children.
Thank you to all the members, friends and families who attended our Australia Day BBQ on the weekend. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces as well as many new ones proudly bearing the Australian flag. After working up an appetite kicking the football with the Guangzhou Scorpions Australian Football Club, all of our attendees feasted on a delicious spread of salads, breads and cakes courtesy of DoubleTree by Hilton and HPantry. San Miguel and Pran Wines provided a fine selection of wine and beer. Meanwhile Keadon and Investco ensured the BBQ was delivering an endless supply of sausages and steaks.
After two heated rounds of pin the tail on the Kangaroo, our judges were still unable to discern a champion and awarded all of our participants a prize. The talented winners of our handball competition were awarded Port Adelaide scarfs and red packets.
