Greg Smith 格雷戈里·史密斯

Greg is currently the Vice President of International Schools Services (ISS) which provides a range of supports to international schools across the world. Greg has been based in Shenzhen since 2018 overseeing the ISS school and other international schools across Asia so is deeply connected with expatriate communities and their interests.

Greg has more than thirty-five years of experience as an educator and leader in private and public schools in Australia and abroad. His career began in Western Australia’s public school system where he was a teacher, school advisor, principal and superintendent. He has held several international school leadership positions in Asia, most recently as the Head of School at Shekou International School, the oldest international school in Shenzhen. As an international school leader he was Head of Vientiane International School in Laos, and principal and curriculum director at the International School of Beijing.

Separate to his current employment, Greg was a co-founder of international school services company, Schrole Group which was listed on the ASX and is currently one of the largest teacher recruiting agencies in the market. He is a Board member of multiple independent schools, and is the current Chair of the China Australian Chamber of Commerce in South China. During his work in Australia he was a Board member of the Primary Principals’ Association where he led professional development, financial reforms and edited the quarterly magazine.

Greg’s two children both are graduates from international schools and his wife, Morven is also an educator. His daughter lives and works in the US as part of the World Bank and his son is a mortgage broker in Perth, Western Australia. He is based in Shenzhen where he sees the future of China and the world on display each day.
